Welcome to the

Friends of the Woolton Hill Schools

What the "Friends" do

Both schools are now supported by a single PTA, the "Friends of the Woolton Hill Schools".

The Friends care about the enjoyment that our children have whilst at school. They make it their priority to provide fun events for them, whilst using the money they raise to give them the equipment they need to enhance their opportunities at school.

Introduction from the Chair

The Friends of the Woolton Hill Schools work hard to support the children and the school, with committees made up from Parents and Staff. They meet each 4 – 6 weeks and work closely with Mr Davies and the teaching staff to agree priorities for funding.

The funds raised, really do make an enormous difference to the quality of education for our children.  Projects we have recently supported at the school include: Purchase of phonics book resources to help with reading skills teaching; purchase of additional IT equipment to help with in class and home learning; improvements to the school buildings and grounds, both funded by us using external contractors and actually undertaken by parents working on the site.

There aren’t any particular skills required to be a member of the committee – our aim is to provide fun events and activities for everyone, that in turn benefit the children and the school. You don't have to be a parent to volunteer, grandparents and other members of the community are welcome to join.

We like to have fun and get involved with anything we can – If you would like to join our PTA, or help at any of our events, please get in touch with any member of the committee (for either Infant, or Junior)!

Raising money for the pond!

Our current fundraising focus this year is to build a wildlife pond for the schools.

Once complete this project will transform an underutilised area into a thriving habitat, directly enhancing our outdoor learning curriculum and boosting biodiversity on site.

The pond will serve as a dynamic, hands-on classroom, allowing students to engage with science, nature, and environmental stewardship in a meaningful and memorable way.

This project is a mammoth undertaking for the PTA and quotes are currently coming in at around £20,000.

We're hoping to raise that money via an exciting year of events (ie. Woolfest, Quiz Nights, Movie & Disco Nights) but additionally we are contacting local councils and businesses to help contribute.

To this end our project has now been approved by Greenham Trust and we have a Good Exchange fundraising page, where we hope local businesses will look to contribute.

Please click on this link to donate or please share the link with friends and family or businesses that you know who may be willing to contribute.
