Year 6 Calshot Residential Day 1

We arrived safely to glorious sunshine and a picnic lunch on the beach before a tour of the site and getting organised into their spacious rooms in Houston House. They are all pleased with their room buddies for the week!

Two groups then set off to Kayak, it was a very windy afternoon but the children showed real resilience and quickly picked up the new skills. They challenged themselves, worked well as a team, laughed a lot and getting very wet too!

Another group went off to try out the ski slope - they all enjoyed the sliding down but not so much the walking back up in skis! The instructors commented on their resilience and independence. The then faced their fears with the peg pole challenge; working well as team, supporting each other and some making it all the way to the top!

What a great start to the weeks adventure - all the children have been amazing today and have already been complimented for their good manners, resilience and 'give it a go' attitudes! They have now had a delicious dinner - the salad bar being very popular! Check back in tomorrow evening for more of the fun and photos from Calshot!
