Our First Quiz Night Fundraiser for 2025/26

What a Brilliant Start to Our 2025/26 Campaign!

What an incredible night! Our Opening Fundraiser Quiz for the 2025/26 school year was a roaring

success, filled with laughter, competitive spirit, and more than a few steward’s enquiries. A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the evening so memorable.

Leading the chaos with impressive charm and firm authority was our Chair, Nick Watson, who did a smashing job of keeping teams in order—even when debate broke out over the apparently controversial subject of Saturn vs. Jupiter’s moons. Who knew planetary trivia could cause such outrage? Only at Woolton Hill!

So… What Was It All For?

At Woolton Hill Juniors, we’re incredibly proud of the fantastic outdoor learning environment already enjoyed by our children. But there’s one thing they’ve consistently asked for—a pond.

Why a Pond Matters…

A well-designed school pond is far more than a pretty feature. It’s a powerful learning tool that can:

  • Support science lessons through hands-on exploration of ecosystems, habitats, and lifecycles.

  • Encourage curiosity, observation, and environmental stewardship.

  • Provide a calm, nature-rich space that boosts wellbeing.

  • Attract wildlife—from frogs and dragonflies to birds and insects.

  • Transform outdoor learning into real-world discovery.

We’re hoping to raise enough funds this year to redevelop the original pond area at the school and bring this exciting project back to life for all pupils to enjoy.

The Year Ahead…

Last night’s event is just the beginning! We have lots of fun activities and fundraising events planned across the school year, and we would be enormously grateful for your continued support.

Every pound raised brings us closer to giving the children a beautiful, thriving pond to learn from for years to come.

The Result You’ve Been Waiting For…

We are delighted to announce that last night’s quiz raised a fantastic total of £600!

Congratulations to our champions: Quiz Akabusi!

They walked away with a £50 voucher for The Carpenters Arms and, perhaps more importantly, the highly coveted Fish Trophy.

A huge thank you once again to everyone who joined us, donated, argued about moons, or simply came along for the fun. Here’s to a brilliant year ahead—and to building a pond the children will love.
