Headteacher's Update
Its been a very busy week in the Federation'; especially with our 'visitors' on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Infant school. Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to the Parent Survey and for all your 'good luck' messages.
The whole Federation team responded brilliantly across the two days, and our children were amazing, as usual. Miss Knapp and myself feel very proud to be leading such a committed and dedicated school community. We are pleased to have completed the inspection at the infant school and anticipate a similar inspection at the juniors.
The outcome of the inspection is confidential until the report is published. I will provide this to parents, before it is put on the OFSTED website. I anticipate the report will be available in around 30 working days.
The children from Hazel & Rowan recently experienced a wonderful trip to Kew Gardens. Activities included visiting the Palm House, the Temperate House, learning about food from the rainforest and learning about the medicines we get from the plants. The children particularly enjoyed exploring the giant bee hive sculptures. I would like to say a big thank you to our staff for organising the trip and all of our parent volunteers who helped on the day. Without your support, such experiences would not be possible.
Casa Club
Casa Clubs offer a Breakfast and After school club for all of our families, which will be switching to St Thomas' from 30 January 2023.
Both are open to all Infant and Junior school children, with a walking bus from the Infants to the Juniors in the morning and in reverse in the afternoon.
The booking process is simple and easy. Register at Casa's website www.casaclubs.co.uk
An Evening of Star Gazing
Earlier this year we changed our Federation Houses to the names of constellations that can be seen in the night sky above Woolton Hill. On 1st Feb we invite children and parents to join us on the playground at Woolton Hill Junior School to gaze up at the night sky and see what they can spot.
The event will be supported by Newbury Astronomical Society. They will be bringing along some telescopes, but families are invited to bring their own equipment, if they have it, for their own use. Children must be supervised by an adult for the duration of the event.
Please note this event is weather dependent. If there is too much cloud for viewing on the day, we will inform all of our families.

Well done to the archery team who came 3rd at the Park House inter-school event. They were so enthusiastic, showing great aim and focus throughout, we were delighted to see them proudly wearing their medals in school today.
