Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope that all of our families have had a restful summer break and are excited to be returning to school. Monday and Tuesday this week are INSET days, so we look forward to welcoming all the children back to school on Wednesday 4th September at 8.45am.
Website Links
Our staff have planned lots of exciting topics for this year. You can find out precisely what your child is going to be taught over the year ahead from the curriculum section of our website here.
A full list of our school staff team can be found here.
Uniform
I thought it would be helpful to remind parents of our school uniform expectations. These can be found on our website here.
Please note that cycle shorts and leggings are NOT part of our PE uniform.
Children will also need to keep in school these items for their Outdoor Learning lessons:
· Welly boots (named)
· Jogging bottoms (ideally navy or black, no leggings)
· Children should always bring to school a waterproof coat
· Children in EYFS should bring a waterproof all in one suit
We are grateful to receive any donations of school uniform that has been outgrown including PE kit, navy blue joggers, school shoes and trainers. Please drop any donations into the school office.
Car Parks
A reminder that at the Junior school parents MUST NOT park in the coned area alongside the gates. If parents need to park, this must either be in a designated parking space - or outside of the school - and then walk onto site.
Thank you for your support in helping to keep our children safe.
At the Infant School parents must not park in the village hall car park. Space is limited in the layby beside the school so please be careful and considerate to other road users and pedestrians at all times.
Meet the Teacher
Parents can book for our meet the teacher events below:
Supporting Reading & Phonics
Miss Macdonald will be leading workshops to help parents to support their child's reading and phonics skills. Please sign up below:
Outdoor learning
Parents of children eligible for free school meals can be supported with providing the Outdoor Learning uniform we expect children to have. We have been able to source some good quality waterproof coats and trousers in various sizes which will be given to eligible children from Year R to Year 4.
Sadly, we do not have enough large sizes for all children eligible in Year 5/6 but if providing your child with a waterproof coat and navy jogger bottoms presents a financial challenge please contact Miss Knapp for support. We also expect all children to have a pair of school wellies, again we can support with this is parents need it.
Parent Reading Volunteers
Daily reading is an important part of all of our children’s education. Please contact either school office if you have or would like to start volunteering to hear readers in school in the Infants or Juniors.
