Headteacher's Update
Year 6 had a brilliant week at Calshot. I hope you've had a chance to look at the daily updates via the blog and have seen the fantastic range of activities that the pupils have enjoyed. Their behaviour has been excellent and the children have been a credit to our school. I would like to thank the our amazing team of staff for all of their hard work in providing this opportunity for our pupils.
Our Arts Week and World Wildlife Day was a huge success at the Juniors with children embracing the opportunities to be creative! We were delighted to see so many parents visiting us to see the art galleries too. Our fabulous School Council organised a very successful fundraising day raising £130 for the WWF charity and raising awareness of animals at risk around the world due to climate change. Art work in Year 5 and 6 emulated the work of Jill Pelto and their 'animals at risk' art represents the decline of the species over recent years using their line graphing skills from maths! Years 3 and 4 were inspired by the work of the artist Lubaina Himid.
Punctuality Matters
I would like to take this opportunity to remind all families that the school day begins promptly at 8.45am. A significant number of children across both schools arrived after this time each day, and we are asking for your support in ensuring that children arrive on time each day.
Arriving late can have a number of negative impacts. Children who miss the start of the day often miss important instructions, early learning activities, and key opportunities to settle into the classroom routine alongside their peers. This can affect their confidence and readiness to learn, as well as disrupt the flow of teaching for the rest of the class. In addition, repeated lateness can lead to gaps in learning over time, which can make it harder for children to keep up.
I understand that there may occasionally be unavoidable circumstances, but consistent punctuality makes a real difference to your child’s experience and progress in school. Your support in helping children arrive calmly and on time each morning is very much appreciated.

Reminders
We are unable to provide pupils with water cups. All pupils must bring in a water bottle to school each day. Pupils must have their PE kits in school every day. Toys from home should not be brought into school and cash should not be brought into school, with the exception of ice-cream Fridays organised by FWHS. If cash is brought into school it should be in a named purse or envelope and handed to the class teacher.

Our school attendance target is 97% and above for all children, below is the attendance of each class in the year to date.

We have a record of the preloved uniform stock that we have and this can be found via the link.
If you spot something that you would like, just message Lottie Sheppard on 07825 829277 to purchase it. If you have out grown items that are in good condition, please drop these off to either school office and these will be collected.
