"For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self control." (2 Timothy 1:7)

Headteacher's Update

The Summer Term brings a number of statutory assessments that our pupils have to undergo. Year 6 will be sitting their SATS the week of 11th May and further information can be found on our website in our FAQs section.

Year 4 pupils will be undergoing their Multiplication Check between Monday 1st June and Friday 12th June - further information can be found here.

Lastly, Year 1 pupils will go through their Phonics Screening Check the week commencing Monday 8th June and further information and resources can be found here.

For all of our parents/carers with children in Years 1, 4 and 6, if you are not sure how best to support your child or if there are specific sounds, times tables, areas of maths/spelling, punctuation and grammar or reading that you would like more information on, please speak with your child’s teacher. They are routinely collecting non-formal assessment information and are more than happy to share this with you so that we can work together in best supporting your child for the next stage of their school journey.

Information on how you can support pupils at home with stress related to SATS can be downloaded here:

Pond Update

We are very excited to announce that our Pond Fundraising Project has been selected to participate in the 'Tescos Stronger' Starts grants programme. This is where shoppers select which charity they would like to support by posting their blue tokens in their choice of slot, before they leave the store.

Our Pond project will be featured at the Tesco Extra store at Pinchington Lane from Tuesday 28th April 2026 until the end of July 2026. It would be wonderful if our families and community could support this project by shopping at this store and encouraging others to do so please. If successful we could raise tup to £1500 towards our new pond.

We would like to thank the Friends of the Woolton Hill Schools who have set up a crowdfunding page to raise funds for our School Fund - this has already raised an incredible £3428!

Safeguarding Matters

What is the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead?

The Designated Safeguarding Lead takes lead responsibility for child protection and safeguarding issues in school. The DSL’s is a member of the Senior Leadership Team whose role is to liaise closely with external safeguarding providers, support staff to carry out their safeguarding duties and take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection including online safety.

In our Federation the Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mr Davies. The Deputy Designated Safeguarding leads are Miss Knapp, Mrs Dickson & Miss Calder-Hoath.

Attendance Matters

School attendance, as always, is a focus for our school this year.

Our Federation attendance target is 97% and above.

We are committed to:

  • Promoting good attendance and reducing absence, including persistent absence

  • Ensuring every pupil arrives at school on time and ready to learn

  • Ensuring every pupil has access to full-time education to which they are entitled good attendance means being in school at least 97% of the time (184 days or more) good punctuality means being in school at 08:45 ready to learn

Strong attendance is directly linked with stronger academic achievements as well as contributing to increased sense of belonging and strong social relationships.

Here is a summary of each class’s attendance this year to date:

INSET Dates

A few parents have asked if we have set our INSET dates for the 2026/27 academic year. These dates are set to serve the requirements of the Federation Improvement Plan and to ensure our staff training is carried out when it can have the most impact. Our INSET dates will be published in June after the Improvement Plan has been written and after the dates have been approved by the Governing Body.
