When others are happy, be happy with them, and when they are sad, be sad with them.’

Headteacher's Update

What a wonderful Federation Sport Day last Friday! We were treated to some excellent examples of sporting brilliance and sportsmanship. Thank you to all of our families who for coming along to cheer on the children. Thanks too, to Miss Calder-Hoath and the whole staff team for their efforts setting up and running the day.
As I write this newsletter the Junior School is a hive of activity with members of 'The Friends of Woolton Hill Junior School' busily setting up for this evening's Woolfest! This is a legendary annual event and I'm sure that all of our families will have a marvellous time.
I would like to thank all the members of the Friends committee who have made this event possible, Mr. Chaffe, our caretaker, the school staff for all their help, and all the parents who have given up their time to support. Have a great evening.
Safeguarding Matters

Does your child start junior school in September 2027? Do you know someone who is looking for a school place starting in Year R at St Thomas' or in Year 3 at Woolton Hill Juniors next year? Come along to our open morning to meet staff and children and to see our brilliant Federation in action.
Congratulations to Summer who recently passed her grade 1 acoustic Guitar exam with a merit!
INSET Days
Please note the following dates have been set for staff training closures in the next academic year:
Tuesday 1st September
Wednesday 2nd September
Monday 2nd November
Monday 4th January 2027
Monday 7th June 2027
Attendance Matters
We believe that children should attend school regularly and arrive on time. Good attendance is crucial to effective learning and the continuity of the learning experience, therefore we place great emphasis on this in our communication with parents and carers.
Regular attendance means the pupils can make the most of their education, improving their chances in adult life. It will help their social skills, such as making and keeping friendships. A regular and punctual attendance pattern will also help when they enter the world of work.
Children in England and Wales are required by law to attend school for just 190 days out of 365 each year. These days are organised into six periods or three terms, which leaves families with 13 weeks of designated holiday and an additional 5 days when school is closed for staff to undertake training days.

Friends Of The Schools of Woolton Hill
Woolfest is here. It is going to be beautiful weather, but don’t let the heatwave put you off attending this evening as we have provided plenty of shade, plus cold refreshments and ice creams will be available to purchase.
If you are unable to make it, don’t forget you can still get involved by placing a bid on the silent auction. We have some great prizes available. Take a look here and place your bids. https://www.zeffy.com/en-GB/ticketing/woolfest-26-silent-auction-2
