Headteacher's Update
ree

What a wonderful week of Christmas celebrations across our Federation!

This past week has truly captured the magic of Christmas in our schools. From the youngest pupils to our Junior school choir, the joy and creativity on display have been nothing short of inspiring.

Our Year R Nativity Play was a heart warming start to the festivities. The children brought the Christmas story to life with such charm and confidence—complete with angel wings, shepherds’ crooks, and a very proud donkey! Their enthusiasm and big smiles reminded us all of the wonder of the season.

Next came the Key Stage One Nativity Play, which was a delightful blend of storytelling and song. The pupils’ clear voices and expressive acting filled the hall with festive cheer. It was wonderful to see how much effort they had put into learning their lines and performing with such energy and joy.

The Lower School Carol Concert was a truly magical event. St Thomas' Church echoed with traditional carols and seasonal songs, beautifully sung by our talented pupils. The harmonies, the candlelight, and the sense of community made this a memorable highlight of the term.

Thank you to all the staff, families, and pupils who made these events possible. A huge thank you, as well, to Reverend Lisa and all at St Thomas' Church for the support that they also provided. Everyone's hard wark and support have created lasting memories for everyone involved.

Christmas Fair
ree

We are thrilled to share that St Thomas’ Christmas Fair was a huge success! The whole staff team worked incredibly hard to create a wonderful event, with stalls selling children’s artwork, festive craft kits, and an impressive array of cakes.

A special highlight was the chance for children to visit Father Christmas, which brought smiles and excitement to all.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to The Carpenters Arms for generously supplying food and making a donation to support the event.

Including the retiring collection at St Thomas’ Church, we are delighted to announce that we have raised approximately £950 for Little Pioneers Pre-School and Nursery. This achievement reflects the amazing community spirit and generosity of everyone involved—thank you!

The Musical Extravaganza

A huge well done to all the pupils who took part in our recent Musical Extravaganza at the Junior School! This wonderful event showcased the incredible musical talents of our children, with captivating performances on piano, keyboard, acoustic and electric guitars, flute and drums, alongside beautiful songs from our amazing school choir. Every performer truly embodied our school vision and “Let Their Light Shine”—we are so proud of their confidence, creativity, and dedication. Thank you to everyone who made this such a memorable celebration of music!

Friends Of The Woolton Hill Schools

Last night’s infant Christmas party and junior disco were well attended and the youngsters enjoyed a fun evening.  Over this past half term we introduced hot chocolate Fridays which have been a popular way to end a chilly week.  We plan to do more in the New Year, so look out for when these will be.  If you are having a clear out over the festive period, our next Bags 2 School collection has been arranged for Friday 26th January.  Click on the link for details of the items that can be donated.  What We Collect | Bag2School

We have some exciting activities in the pipeline for 2026, so watch this space for when dates are released.

Thank you for your ongoing support with the activities that we organise and we wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Get Involved

As a friendly group of volunteers we are always looking for people to join our team, whether it is to help out with one off events or more regularly, any help is greatly appreciated.  Support the Friends so that we can support our schools.

Football Tournament

A huge well done to all the pupils who represented our school at the recent Football Tournament at Park House School! The boys were absolutely fantastic, showing great teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the afternoon. They won three of their six games, secured two hard-fought draws, and suffered just one narrow defeat—conceding only two goals across all matches. This is an outstanding achievement, and we are incredibly proud of their effort and commitment. Well done, team!

Santa Fun Day

Our amazing Year 6 Ambassadors have organised a really fun and engaging Santa Fun Day today. They have worked really hard to promote their chosen charity 'Swings and Smiles' and all the good work they do for families in our area.

They have raised a whopping £100 for the charity today and look forward to presenting that to 'Swings and Smiles' in the new year.

Well done Josh, Rose, Teddy and Grace.

Merry Christmas

The staff and Governors would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our children and families a very Merry Christmas and a happy start to 2026! Monday 5th January 2026 is an INSET Day. The Spring term begins at 8.45am on Tuesday 6th January 2026.
