Headteachers Update

Welcome to our brand new newsletter! I hope it will keep you up to date with all of the news from across the Federation, promote the children's achievements, and provide links to any upcoming events and forms. Hosted on our website you can find quick answers to any questions you may have: a one-stop shop for information.

Many schools are facing high levels of staff and pupil absence, and our Federation has also faced these challenges. We have contingency plans in place for switching classes to remote learning, but I am pleased to say that so far these have not been necessary. This is thanks to the great flexibility and hard work of the wonderful staff team, and I would like to thank them all for their efforts.

World Book Day - 3rd March

This year World Book Day is celebrating it's 25th anniversary. The theme this year is 'party', the date for World Book Day is Thursday 3rd March just after half term. Children are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite book characters, for extra fun some classes may have chosen a class theme, your child's teacher will provide more information about this.

Sex & Relationships Education Parental Consultation

We are in the process of updating the Federation's Policy for its Sex & Relationships Education. This is a statutory Policy that all schools must have and forms a vital part of our educational offer. It is important that the school's approach reflects the views of our parents and I invite you to submit your views via this online form:

Governing Body

We have a vacancies for parent governor volunteers which we need to fill as soon as possible. We have always aimed for a partnership with parents which undoubtedly brings great benefits to the children. One of the most significant ways you can help in promoting this aim is to volunteer to be a parent governor. For more information click here.

The Governing Body is also looking to recruit a new Clerk. This is a paid role and you can find out more by clicking here.

WHJS After School Club

We currently have vacancies for a Play Leader and Play Worker at the new Junior School After-School Club that we hope to launch on Monday 28th March. If you would like to apply for one of these roles, you can find out more below.

End of the Day

Please note that from Monday 14th February the school gates will open at 3.10pm. This is to avoid children being distracted from their learning by groups of parents waiting outside their classroom. Please time your arrival at school accordingly. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Multi Skills

If your child would like to attend our Multi Skills Club which runs after school on a Friday from 3.15pm - 4.15pm please email Mrs West in the school office. This club will run every week for 7 weeks. The last session will be on Friday 1st April.

Half Term

We break up for the half term holiday at the normal time on Friday 18th February and return to school on Monday 28th February.

Have a great weekend.

Best Wishes

Paul Davies
